Fruits

It is not by my might, but by the grace of God that I am able to share this message with you! "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." (Matthew 7:16-20) Have you ever looked at a piece of fruit, such as, an orange or apple and wondered what the tree looked like that the fruit was picked? Sometimes when I go to the grocery store, I look at the fruit and wonder what farm this fruit originated. Oftentimes, the labels reveal the source of the fruit. Curiosity and the desire to trace the roots of a fruit back to its origin can tell much about the product. Therefore, when we deal with daily issues such as difficult or angry people, double mindness, or con

I AM

I am a Wife and Mother A Daughter and Sister An Aunt, Daughter-in Law and Sister-in Law, too I am a Cousin, First, Second, and Third I am Blessed by God, Favored and shaped into his likeness The generations before, I stand on their shoulders The accomplishments, struggles, ups and downs Yes, it all comes along with the package I am a Southerner and proud of my heritage I am a song, the melodies are so sweet to the ear I am a student, a seeker, a keeper, and teacher It is not about me, but about the One who uses me To do His will... To speak His Words... To go out into the fields... I am a work in progress. I am thirsty for the knowledge to share it with others. No, an overnight product I am not, but I am a royal priesthood, joint heir with the Son. Oh, how the work seems so much, and the laborers are few I am like the roots of a tree You may only see a couple on the surface of the ground, But there is much more to see underneath So, I AM what He made me to be. Running To and Fro

With the constant changing technology, we can so easily get pulled in all sorts of directions. The accessibility to the Internet, the common use of mobile phones, and other electronic devices have gotten us to a place of disarray. We sometimes can not prioritize the important things and forget to do the mundane tasks. When the day ends and  it is time to wind do, what have we really accomplished that can impact the lives beyond our physical reach? Running to work, school activities, meetings, church functions, the store, and even to extra curricular activities can take its toll on our bodies both physically and emotionally. Draining our very essence and depleting our individual resources can cause us to get busy and not be productive. Going from one function to the next, from one activity to the next, can cloud the focus. What is it that I really could be doing that can make a difference for some one's well being? What mission have I accomplished by running to and fro? Often ti

I Am in the Zoo

I am a pocka-dot dog that wants to be in the zoo. I see two children that want to play and it asks the men, "Can I be in the zoo"? Then the men said, "You are not a zoo animal". "So you will have to stay outside" and "you can only look at the zoo animals". "While you look, we will just feed you". "Now you can play with the children". So the men asked the children do they want to play with the dog and they said "yes, we sure do want to play with the dog"! "The dog wants to play with you, too"! So, this is the first thing we are going to play, hide and seek. And the dog is "IT". This is how you play, when you are "IT", you have to count to ten or twenty. The two that are not "IT" have to hide while you count. So the dog counts to ten. Then they hid some where. The dog found both of them. The men said "you can come in the zoo now and be a zoo animal". Then the ch

The Clouds

I recall looking up at the clouds when I was a little girl, full of dreams, and free from any cares of the world. We could be riding along in the car and I would look up at the white or gray clouds and whatever I was thinking, that cloud mysteriously shaped into the object I was thinking about. One minute I could gaze up and see the image of an animal, such as cow, and the next an airplane. The serene and peace would engulf me and take me to a place of freedom. God's Word liberates us and sets us free from those cares of the world as adults. In Psalm 119:105, the psalmist says "your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path". The Word of God can bring the serenity and peace to your dim situation. It can bring light to the darkness that you face. There is nothing more powerful that the Word of God. Use this weapon you have to regain the joy and peace God intended for you to enjoy. The clouds are transformed by the Word of God into the shape of God's intende

Trust in Him

As a child does not understand why he/she can not have that toy in the store every time a trip is made to the store, so it is with us when events occur that we don't understand, God is in control and He knows what's best for us even when we don't understand at the time. If that child gets that toy every time, he/she will lack the wherewithal to accept "No, you will not get a toy this time". So, as parents teach children to trust them to make decisions for them that is in their best, we have to Trust God, too. Proverbs 3:5 reads, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." Learn to trust in the Lord and know that He has our best interest at hand. God's Favor

Often times, we go about our daily lives so busy with the day-to-day operations that we tend to forget about the favor that God has placed on our lives. We do not have to think that everything has to be done in our own strength. God has the power to supernaturally change and orchestrate events to favor you and me. Take time out today to trust God and thank Him for the favor on your life. Let's take ten minutes to say "Thank You God" for favoring me. Blessings Unto You, LaKenya
