Smile Again

While life can throw some curve balls sometimes, I'm reminded of the scripture John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

 As I reflect over this scripture, I'm so engulfed with Jesus' instructions that peace lies within Him. Oftentimes, we tend to want to obtain peace in any and everything such as shopping, entertainment, pleasing people or so forth. But Jesus clearly instructs that if we want to acquire peace, it simply is in Him. 

 Also, with peace there comes a period or periods of tribulation. None of us really want to deal with trials and strife, but Jesus assures us in this passage that they are sure to come. My reaction would be to avoid the trials and run as fast from them as I can, but what I've learned that as I encounter them and go through them, it strengthens us, molds us and transforms us into a better person.

 After going through the trials that are sure to come, with Jesus, we will be able to SMILE again...

  Thank You DFA and Family   This serves as a “Thank You” to all of you who are reading this right now. Today is my last day at DFA. Although some of you were here when I came to DFA back in June of 2000, many have retired or moved on to various other assignments. Some have come after I started with DFA. What Profits a Person to Gain the Whole World and lose his/her soul? The soul is deemed integral or essential to consciousness and personality . As I contemplate on this thought, I have to take a look in the mirror at myself. With any evaluation made, one must first perform a self assessment , which equates to self-awareness . Knowing where you stand on a particular subject or how you feel about a particular topic, first requires some soul searching and getting to know SELF . Don't Waste Your Time...

Don't waste your time arguing with or listening to people who are argumentative by nature. Some people will "argue with a stop sign", that's what they use to say in the old days. Just ignore the noise and focus on other things that are more important. Let the small stuff go! There are many more urgent things going on that require more attention. Let us take a look at John chapter nine. Here, Jesus heals a man who was blind at birth and the Pharisees were trying to find out every thing they could to find fault in the miraculous thing Jesus did for this man.  Love  Love  Love! The Greatest Commandment. Matthew 22:34-39 (NIV) 34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”   37 Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'
